Don't Become a Victim of Mortgage Scam
Beware you might be a victim of a scam If:
- If Someone tells you that you will get a federal incentive to walk away from your mortgage [Never walk away, as walking away will only result in negative consequences and there are options available to you]
- If you are asked to pay upfront for counseling [As a Community Out Reach - Our services are Free of charge to you]
- If you are pressured to sign papers immediately [Read all pages carefully and never sign any documents you are unfamiliar with. You can very well be signing over the deed to your property]
- If you are asked to sign your house over to a company or person who is not working with your mortgage company [No one should be taking possession of your house for any reason]
- If you are asked to make a mortgage payment to someone other than your mortgage company without their approval [You mortgage company will notify you if there is any changes made to you mortgage. Never pay anyone prior to speaking with you mortgage company]
- If you are guaranteed a successful short sale or mortgage modification [No one can guarantee a successful short sale/mortgage modification as your documents must first be submitted to your lender for review. Your lender will make a decision based on the documents they are provided with]
- If they claim to be a representative of the federal government [We doubt that the federal government will be visiting you at your home]
