How Blogging Makes Me a Better Realtor® for my Clients

You think you are a contributor to the community when you blog. You think you are just sharing a story or an incident. You think you are just ranting. Yes, you ARE doing all that. But little did you that the comments and feedback you receive on your post may CHANGE the WAY you think, CHANGE the WAY you do business. That's what
blogging may do for you, as it has done for me.
I, am for one that have countless experiences like that. The more I contribute, the more I get back in return. I guess that's just how it works!
I wrote a post about No Mental Cases, No Stalking and No Arsons - Keep Business Simple Please. It just started off with an intention to share an experience so hopefully others could learn what I learnt. But Lenn Harley's shared her wisdom, When presented with unusual situations, my first thought is, would my E&O cover me if something goes wrong here?
A lightbulb went off! I don't truly understand what all there is to cover on my E&O insurance. I have it but I really dont know what protection I have. This one simple remark from Lenn Harley taught me to go research my own E&O before I renew my policy.
This is just one recent example of countless ones that I've experienced here in the Rain.
When I first made a decision to fly solo in my business over 3 years ago, I was afraid I didn't have enough experience and expertise to go on my own. But guess what?
In over 3 1/2 years here in the Rain, I've learnt so much to better serve my clients than I ever did all 7 years of my entire career in the industry. Just thinking that makes me say a big WOW! to the journey that started over 3 years ago here in the 'Rain.
I'm constantly reading up on the ever-changing HAFA rules on Short Sales, always one of the first to know about the changes in the Mortgage Industry, I learnt about how other parts of the country conduct real estate business. Active Rain is seriously the CNN of the Real Estate Industry - all thanks to the effort of every individual who choose to participate in this awesome network.
I can't be half as intelligent, half as resourceful for my clients had it not been on this place we (the real estate people) have come to love so dearly.
During my tenure here in the Rain, I've definitely becoming a better Realtor® for my buyer and seller clients. You'd be surprised how much you may learn from reading, commenting as well as receiving feedback from others like you or unlike you. It's ALL GOOD.
Not only do I learn by reading, I learn by blogging because the feedbacks and comments are often very invaluable. The relationships I built - PRICELESS!
