The first stop of the Plein-Air Exhibit, "American Legacy: Our National Parks" will be Lake Charles, LA.

A variety of wonderful things happen when 38 members and guests of the Plein-Air Painters of America (PAPA) set up easels in national parks across the country.

One of them is an exhibit called "American Legacy: Our National Parks."  This exhibit was organized by the Haggin Museum in Stockton, California and w
ill be on display at the 1911 Historic City Hall in LAKE CHARLES, LA from November 5 - January 15, 2011.

What is plein-air?  According to the Plein-Air Painters of American (PAPA) website, it is the "...
historic tradition of painting directly from life."  By exploring and capturing the beauty that surrounds us, PAPA members have carried forward this tradition since 1986.

Details about the exhibit can be found on this page on the P-A-P-A.com website.  The particulars on the Lake Charles venue are available on the city of Lake Charles website.
