When An Open House Visitor Won't Leave - (Almost) Speechless Sunday

When An Open House Visitor Won't Leave.

What's an agent to do when it's time to end the open house and one of the visitors won't leave?  Lizard at Open House

This critter entered with a couple just a few minutes after the open house began. He initially had trouble getting good footing on the ceramic tile entry, but successfully wiggled his way to the carpet in the formal living room.  The couple wandered through the home and eventually left, but the lizard decided he liked the house and was going to look around a bit longer.

Every once in a while I'd check on Larry.  He hung out in the living room for about an hour.  When I went to check on him again, I found him in the utility room where he remained for the rest of the open house.

Lizard at Open HouseSince this is a vacant property, there's nothing in there designed for lizard rescue, not even a broom.  Larry and I discussed the situation.  I was perfectly happy to lock him in when I left, with the understanding that he'd find his way out tonight.  I hope he keeps his promise. Or decides to make an offer on the house.

Funny!  I would have given him the keys if he promised not to get me!

Barbara: He was actually kind of fun to watch, once he quit freaking out on the tile.

Too funny to watch one try and run on vinyl tile - it's like slow motion.  Those little guys are all over the place.  Since it's a vacant property, Larry will keep your cricket and moth population from ending up as dead carcases in the corners.

Mark: Don't have a moth or cricket problem.  Now waterbugs, that's a different story.

How funny.  Were you sad to leave him alone?

Ugh ... now if we had one of those little guys come visit in a house around here, I'd freak. Of course we don't have those around here (greater Seattle area), so it'd be a real problem! From your story, I assume they're pretty fast?

Latonia: I was very glad to get out of the house!

Gabrielle: Not very fast, but he was skittering around on the tiles. He calmed down once he got to the carpet.  Don't have lizards in Seattle? Want one?

Next time you may want to try using the info sheets on the property to gently lift him up with, unless you have a fear of lizards running up your sleeve, it's a pretty effective solution.  It's my favorite spider and reptile catcher, but I don't mind a ride on my arm either.

Oh no, Karen! This little fella was about 12" and definitely wouldn't have stayed put on the paper.  Want to bring your arm over and give him a ride out the door?

Hi Lorrie... did you at least find out if he is prequalified?  He looks more like a renter to me.
