In the Lewiston/Auburn Maine area that means gearing up for the new season of the Lewiston MAINEiacs.
The MAINEiacs have already thrilled the home crowd by winning their pre-season opener 5-2.
The MAINEiacs are more than just a sports team to the residents of the area, they are valued members of the community, regularly volunteering to help out.
Last week vandals knocked down nearly 150 headstones in one of Auburn's historic cemeteries and volunteers and staff from the MAINEiacs showed up to help repair the damage.
The team also helps local charities raise funds by donating items to be auctioned off as well as organizing and participating in many other programs.
Join the team for their regular season opener September 10th at 7pm at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston.
