Entertaining the idea of removing the Entertainment Center

By
Home Stager with Z Touch Design Services

Two couches and an entertainment center was just a little too much for this small living room. The arrangement was also blocking the window which is often a bad idea when showing off a room. Removing the smaller couch (loveseat) and moving the larger one in it's place really opened up the room.  Removing the small entertainment center also helped to add more space.  Adding an open leg coffee table instead of the solid one also added some "airiness" to the arrangement.  We lightened up the walls a little, took the photo when it was a little lighter outside and... voila, a "show room" in an 800 sq. ft. house.

A most definite improvement -- but where did you end up putting the TV?

A dramatic change for the better and yes, I wondered as well -- where's the TV?  I suspect where the entertainment center was?

You did all the RIGHT things.....in general I hate those entertainment centers.  Now with the flat screens they seem sooo dated and take up soooo much room!  GREAT staging!

Thanks for the approval everyone.  The owner was moving in with her elderly mother (to help take care of her) and she was only a few blocks away so she could move things out with no problem.  I'm with you Kathy - I rarely like entertainment centers.

The home we staged today had one in the living room-I did not win, the entertainment center won- stayed and the sofa went out. Sometimes we wind and sometimes we lose.

Great staging and photos!!

Wow Leanne!  What a fabulous transformation -- it truly looks like a different house!  This is such an excellent example of why sellers need help from a professional stager.  Most homeowners simply don't know how to best show their home.  They must have been very happy with the outcome!

I love the more spacious feel that can be achieved simply by using "leggier" coffee tables.  Good choice, Leanne!

Wow - what a huge difference that made. I hate those huge things personally! Some take the whole wall and just too much in a photo!

This room appears to much larger and inviting.  The colour scheme adds a great deal of warmth to the room.  Good job!
