Mid April 2010, my client bought a foreclosed dump of a house with the address of 5583 Playa Del Rey in San Jose, CA. 95123. I managed this immense overhaul. Almost everything in the house was ripped out and replaced. The home was transformed from the neighborhood eyesore for many years to a pleasant welcoming post. I call it so since it was located at the gateway to the neighborhood. The day it went on the market, I invited the neighbors to an exclusive evening Neighbor's Only Open House so they could be the first to see the new home, as a sort of reward for putting up with the renovation dust and noise. About 60 families came and it was an amazing evening of neighborhood stories and history sharing. They were in awe of how beautiful the house is now. I was so moved and touched by what they all expressed-gratitude. Gratitude for turning the neighborhood eyesore, something they all dreaded driving by everyday into a lovely, charming home.
I am so honored to be a part of this transformation. It feels fantastic to know that my work makes this kind of a difference for this neighborhood. My client, the current owner, deserves tremendous credit for investing in this home and doing right by it by fixing it up as if she were to live in it herself. This home is a beautiful product of a labor of love.
There's one item that came with the house that was left intact: a soccer ball. This was in the back yard. After we put in the new grass, I rolled the black and white ball onto it and it was like putting the perfect little garnish on a delicious gourmet dish. The ball brought the yard to life and I was able to see and hear the new family living and laughing in this new home. One little touch can make a difference like this.
If you'd like to view this home to see if it's the right home for your family, feel free to contact me and I will be proud to introduce you to it.
