Concord, MA is the oldest inland town, continuously inhabited, in America- and it's celebrating it's 375th birthday the weekend of September 11th and 12th. There are many wonderful activities to enjoy. Saturday morning, starting at 10am, a birthday parade will take place. There are more than 90 entries, including many marching bands, floats, marching groups, and tributes to Veterans. Hopefully the weather will cooperate, but if not, there is a rain date scheduled the following day, Sunday, Sept. 12th starting at 2pm.
A music festival immediately follows the parade, in Concord center. Between noon and 5pm, there will be a variety of musical entertainment to help celebrate the day.
The Birthday Bash Ball will be Saturday evening, beginning at 7pm at the Concord Armory. The rock group, "Firefly" will be the featured entertainment at this event.
Sunday, at the Concord-Carlisle High School grounds, the Concord Band will play to the delight of all. Following the Band will be the"Ramblin' Boys", playing some classic rock and roll. There will be food vendors, and finally a fireworks display to top off the weekend.
Concord, MA is a historic town, very proud of it's literary traditions and it's place in the history books. Our office at Keller Williams is making a float, commemorating The Colonial Inn in Concord. "Keller Williams Salutes the Colonial Inn- providing a home away from home for 3 centuries!" It's going to be a great weekend!
