RPAC Appreciation mixer at Rock Bottom Brewery brings out a crowd

It's always nice to get fed and network, and thanks to our local RPAC or REALTOR Political Action Committee chapter agents could do just that at an appreciation event and mixer tonight at the Rock Bottom Brewery in Clive. The event was held in the billiard room and invitees received two free drink tickets and were treated to a buffet of bottomless sodas, buffalo wings, tamales, cut celery and carrot sticks, chips, salsa and guacamole and an endless supply of Rock Bottom's wood fired pizza. The pizza was especially excellent and there was a huge variety.

RPAC registered lobbysist Jennifer Kingland hosted as well as our national RPAC spokesperson Christopher Nave, Iowa major donor rep Lana Baldus and state RPAC organizer and former IAR president Dave Bert. Attendance was limited to agents who had donated $100 or more this year to RPAC or those who were willing to donate that amount or more at the door.

Some other attendees included Chuck Stull, Larry Marvin, Margaret Moore, Pennie Carroll, Don and Mary Godwin, Scott Wendl, Mick Grossman, Mark Treilweiler, Jake Stanton, Jim Heldenbrand, Larry Pickering, John Dunn, Robin Polder, Linda Westergaard, Judy Bookwalter, Kurt Schade and about 8-10 other agents I couldn't name by sight but am sure I know. Thanks to all the attendees for their donations and support of RPAC.

Along with the refreshments and camaraderie we were treated to a run down of RPAC successes both nationally and locally and also advised of the many challenges we still face in our industry. Chief among the hurdles we currently face is the proposed elimination of the mortgage interest deduction and limitations on agents ability to help home owners negotiate short sales. RPAC is working diligently to support real estate friendly legislation and candidates for local and national offices.

It was great to get out and mingle with so many agents dedicated to preserving out lively hood, learn about industry trends and be treated to delicious foods. If you'd like to get invited to future events all you have to do is make a donation by following this link:

Matt - A worthy cause for certain.  An industry mixers are always fun.  My only complaint is that after reading I am both hungry and thirsty.

Sounds like a great event, Matt.  It's nice to see that your RPAC is so active.
