Not sure what to do this Labor Day?  Well besides raising an American Flag in support of our troops, both past, present and future, check out some of these Cheyenne attractions that you may have never visited or haven’t visited in years.

Big Boy Steam Engine –Even in retirement, Old Number 4004 remains an imposing sight.  The world’s largest steam locomotive, this powerful coal-fired engine was designed to pull a 3600-ton train over steep grades between Cheyenne, WY and Ogden, Utah.  Located in Holliday Park.

Bit-O-Wyo Ranch Trail Rides – Take a ride on Mr. Ed this Labor Day weekend at the Wyo Ranch.  Scenic trail rides, featuring high ridges overlooking valleys and creeks.  Rides at 10am and 2pm daily (other times available upon request).  Cost is $40 per hour, 1-3 hour rides.  (more

Farmer’s Market – Visit the farmer’s market this Saturday to take advantage of nature’s bounty.  8:00am – 1:00pm at the Depot Plaza.

Cheyenne Street Railway Trolley – Fully-narrated Historic Tours on the enclosed Cheyenne Street Railways Trolley.  The trolley makes stops at the Depot Museum, Nelson Museum of the West, Wyoming State Museum, Wyoming State Capitol Building, Botanic Gardens, Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum and the Historic Governor’s Mansion.  $10 adults, $5 children (ages 2-12) or $15 Trolley Plus, which includes admittance to the Old West Museum, Nelson Museum and Depot Museum. Historic Downtown Walking Tour – Take a self-guided walking tour through the historic core of downtown Cheyenne.  Buildings include the old Union Pacific Depot and beautiful Tivoli Building.  Pick up a free brochure to help guide your way at the Depot Visitor Center.
