Actually I went yesterday for cleaning and business is booming, for the dentists!
Phly, We won't send out a search party this time.
Donner Party, table for 4... oops I mean 3....looks like we kept you waiting too long!
Clearly with all the dentist appointments you've had lately, you and Dr. DrillandFill are an item these days!
Chris - HA! Well,. . . . kinda. I didn't have any work done today. But I'm having a TON done next week. :( So I'll blog then! ;)
Paul - LOL! I think we might be in the wrong profession Paul! It's the dentists that make all the money! ;)
Craig - Considering that Dr. Blaisdell is old enough to be my father (or even possibly my grandfather!). . . I'm at a loss. I don't know whether to laugh or say ewwwww in response! ;)
Phly....thank God for novacaine.....imagine having dental work done without it????????? focus on the point where the ceiling meets the wall and breath.....but focus on that one point in the corner and you'll not feel a thing....it's like natural childbirth....it works.
I'm not sure we are all not grateful for no pictures. Your numb and swollen lips would probably have not been a pretty sight. I remember when I was six going in for dental work, getting the injection and kicking the dentist. That was that.
Barbara - I'm a big fan of Novocain! Actually it's quite pleasant (for being at the dentist), they have these huge picture windows that look out onto this pretty park-like setting so you are not staring at the wall. Natural childbirth is not that bad at all! (I can say that cause I've been there. . . not on purpose though, but that's another story!) It's like "Oh, BIG OUCH!". . . and then it's done! It's the same with the dentist. ;)
Jane - LOL! I'm not that mean! I was going to put up a picture of a very tasteful dental mirror. My lips are fat enough without any help from the dentist, so showing them off when they are swollen is certainly an offense under the 8th amendment! (cruel and unusual punishment) ;)
My neighbor is a dental hygienist. I want to change dentists. She said her guy was both good and close. I said that it would be weird having a friend clean my teeth. She said that she thought that it would be weird having a friend sell her house. OK.
I am changing dentists and flossing more regularly.
My experience before my last one was not pleasant. It took years for me to get over my fear of dentists.
I'm still not over it Robert.... Phly... tell them to give you gas and DON'T BE SHY about it! :(
Hope all went well.
Phly......I dislike going to the dentist, even if it is state of the art today! I can handle cleanings, anything else really drives me crazy!
... I believe the Dentist continues to be the most feared 'Medical Practitioner' that we have to encounter !! ... and it starts as a child !
How can it not when they use that nerve-grating buzzy-drill that ricochets through your head like that ! Oh no thank you.
Anyway hope your visit there was peachy !!
Steve - LOL! I guess there is such a thing as being too good of friends! ;)
Robert - It's just the whole numb face thing that gets me.
Joni - LOL! I'm goofy enough without adding gas to the mix! But they use a tiny little needle that you can't even feel at all. So it's all good!
Carra - I just keep telling myself "Once this is done, you don't have to go back for a LONG time!" It helps! ;)
Sheldon - I agree! My daughter is terrified of the dentist! If she hears anything that sounds like a dental tool she comes running and yells "Mommy! Make it stop!" This visit turned out to be just a consult, so it was great! ;)
Okay, you have to post a blog right after... I mean RIGHT AFTER!!! And see what it looks like the next day! HAHAHAHAHA. :)
