Message from my Short Sale Negotiator (sent via Activerain) Are you a SCAM?

Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Realty Group

On a gorgeous Saturday afternoon I retrieved an email on my BlackBerry.  Subject:   Smith Short Sale (Sent via Activerain).   After the elation I felt that my loan package was finally getting some attention, it hit me.  A BANK is contacting me on Saturday??  They're notifying me through Activerain??  The request was for bank statements, pay stubs, tax returns, etc. -- the entire package which had already been sent TWICE.

"Send it right away.  Please let me know how the bpo agents will gain access."  I emailed back with a couple of questions of my own that went unanswered.  HA!  Tried to scam me!  On Monday I called the bank to inquire about Mr. via Activerain, and he actually works there!

Has anyone been contacted in this manner by bank reps?  At least he knew where to find me!!  Thanks Activerain!!!

This worked out because you actually thought something was amiss.  It turned out it wasn't.  But, it's better to be on the side of caution.  Yeah, I would have wondered about a Sat. request too.

Interesting!  No, I haven't been contacted but, of course, I'm not a Realtor.  It will be interesting to see if others have had the same experience.  Of course the good news is that you can be found via ActiveRain!

Carla!  I had the docs in my hand and then thought, "why didn't he just use my email address with the contact info I had included?"  How funny though we he checked out!!!

Thanks, Patsy - the good news is VERY good.  It's good to be found!
