Dinosaurs at the Witte
Do your kids love dinosaurs? This weekend will be your last chance to catch Dinosaurs Unearthed at the Witte Museum. This exhibit has been up since March but the final day to see it is September 6. I have never met a kid who wasn’t fascinated by dinosaurs so if your child doesn’t have school related activities this weekend, this will be a great way to spend an afternoon. You may be fascinated, too.
Step back in time 65 million years to the age when dinosaurs roamed the earth. The exhibit features the world’s largest and most advanced animatronic dinosaurs, full skeletons and fossils and presents interesting information about new discoveries. You can walk fearlessly among the life-sized dinosaurs, including Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops and Stegosaurus. Then go over and examine the paleontological dig to unearth the fossils that remained long after the dinosaurs disappeared.
Dinosaurs Unearthed is the first exhibition in the world to feature life-sized dinosaur models. The exhibition highlights the latest discoveries in paleontology. You will be amazed. In addition to life-sized dinosaur skeletons, fossil specimens and interactive activities, Dinosaurs Unearthed features the latest technology in life-like articulated, animatronic dinosaurs, some of which can be operated and controlled by visitors to the museum. That should be a lot of fun!
The Witte Museum is San Antonio’s premiere museum of South Texas history, culture, and natural science and is located in Brackenridge Park.
