My first Wordless Wednesday

Every year we go apple picking. It's only the first day of September and my daughter's already asking when we are going! This picture was taken last year at Tougas Farms in Northboro. We love Tougas Farms because they have peaches as well as apples. They also have a petting zoo and a huge playground. I just love their apple cider donuts. Hopefully the hurricane doesn't ruin the apples this year.

Never been apple picking. I bet an apple right off the tree is better than the produce stand! I know for a fact it is true with oranges!

What a nice thing to do with your daughter, she will probably continue the tradition with her children..

Hi Crystal - I've already been picking a couple of times this year.  I think with the warm weather, our season is really early this year.  Have fun picking!

Thanks Patrick and Dan. Yes, we did pick that one.

Gary, apples right off the tree are so crisp. They're kind of chewy by the time they hit the stores.

Diane, we've been doing this since I was a kid. It's such a great thing to do with kids, let them run and have fun in the outdoors. This orchard has a giant playground and a petting zoo too.

Ohhh, Peggy, I hope the peaches didn't ripen too soon this year. We always get there at the end of peach season so we can bring home both peaches and apples.

Darrell, I hope so too. After Peggy's comment, we better get there soon. I'm afraid that the rain and the heat may ruin the apples.

Thank you, Paul. I have lots of great pictures for lots of Wordless Wednesdays to come.

Oh, I forgot to mention that my daughter is 20, lol. You are never too old to pick apples.

Crystal, Apple picking sounds like fun. I have picked apples from back yard trees … I do not get the feeling that is the kind of apple picking you are referring to. Have fun!

Hi Kathleen. Apple picking is a family activity. We buy our box to put the apples/peaches in. We take a hay ride out to the orchard, run around trying to find the trees with our favorite kind of apples on them. After the box is full (and you can eat as many as you want out in the orchard) we go to the playground which has a petting zoo and a snack shop where you can buy apple pie, apple crisp, hot apple cider, and cider donuts (my favorite). You can pick pumpkins while you are there but the day is so full that we never get over to that area.

"I listen for a living." It's all about you.

Not much apple picking going on here in Dallas, this month or next.  I look forward to being back in MA where Apple picking and leaf changing season grows nearer. Thanks for the reminder.

Larry - I hope the rain doesn't mess up the apples. I'm 2 hours inland and we only have a 60% chance of rain so the orchards near me may be safe. Where in MA are you from?

Thanks, Teral.
