Cary NC Real Estate, Affordable Trees in Scottish Hills

With new construction homes on smaller and smaller lots, many Buyers are looking at older neighborhoods like Scottish Hills in Cary, NC.  They don't like the way whole subdivisions are denuded of trees, with ornamental trees planted after construction.

Scottish Hills, Cary, NC is the antidote to the naked postage stamp building lot.

See the Scottish Hills slide show, all 68 photos, on Flickr.  It includes some contemporary starter homes from neighboring Woodwinds.

Homes in Scottish Hills were built from the 1960's into the 1980's.  There are stylized splitlevels, split entries, ranches, colonials, and a sprinkling of contemporary homes.  The common theme is the dense woods that makes it such a beautiful area in Cary.

Mike,

I love all the trees and shade - you just can't get that in a new home community!  A flickr show with 68 photos?  I thought I took a lot of photos!

'Love your photos.  You must have had a lot more rain than we have in MD in recent weeks, because we're looking pretty brown these days.  Thanks again for commenting on my post about "blog police" -

Mike,

I also have clients that only want the old neighborhoods because of the trees.

Susan,

I'm hearing more and more of it.  And I'm glad we have so many wooded neighborhoods in the central part of Cary.

Raleigh has a good many also.  As does Garner.

Thanks for commenting.

Mike, We call some areas of town Napalm Village. There ought to be a law requiring developers to keep a certain percentage (how about  70-80%) of the trees!

Hi, Ginger,

The sad thing is the amount of demand for denuded areas.  When that demand shifts, I think we will see more new neighborhoods like Scottish Hills.
