Whitewater, CA 92282...updated

The community of White water CA aka Cabazon is about 20 minutes from downtown Palm Springs, Ca, and about 2 hours east of Los Angeles.  The White Water area has seen a growth of activity, partly because homes in  Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego County have become unaffordable for the average family.

Whitewater is at the neck of the Coachella Valley, and was originally called West Palm Springs Village.  The original development had investors like Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, and Frank Sinatra.  There was supposed to be over 500 lots of Commercial, a Drive-in, Polo Grounds, a Bowling Alley, and an Aquarium.  Nice plans, but the original Investors went bankrupt, and for years there was only minimal  interest in the area.  That has changed recently, and you will see many new homes, and property values sky-rocketed.

Today the area of Whitewater has changed. Desert Hills Premium Outlets has over 100 stores and is only minutes away. Next door you will also find the Cabazon Outlets.  These are destinations for many International visitors, and people from all over southern California come here for the high end stores.

The Morongo Casino Resort and Spa in Cabazon, Ca  offers both entertainment and jobs. The Morongo Reservation has also recently opened a state-of-the-art Bowling Alley.  Both of these are just 15 minutes from the property.  Other activities are hiking, biking, off- roading, Art and Theatre, and you are only 2 hours to Los Angeles or the beach areas of San Diego.

Housing prices in this area for new homes run just below the 100,000 dollar to low 300's range.  Homes in the area have great Mountain Views, some have a view of the Casino. You can sit outside and enjoy the fantastic views of the snow-capped San Jacinto Mountains, or sit in your living room and enjoy the view of the San Gorgonio Mountains.

Kathy, for CA that does seem like a great price. In Michigan the only people not sticker shocked are CA and East Coast people. Beautiful area, views, entertainment and shopping. Who could ask for more.

Kathy, the area looks lovely!  And so does the view from the home. This is no sticker shock from these parts, you can't find anything in Long Island for anywhere near that price, at least not that I'm aware of.  Thanks for sharing.

Missy,

Thanks....I have never posted here before....should I have more pictures of the House?  You know how it is when you have so many rules :) I tried to follow the rules of posting info about the area, but it got so lengthy I wasn't sure what to do with the house  :)  Need advice.   Thanks..

Carole- this area is really nice, and as all the building from the San Diego County border keeps moving this way soon it might reach it's potential.  We are surrounded by spectacular Mountains, this is my favorite part :)

Very nice Kathy...Larry and I went bowling last Friday night at Casino Morongo's new bowling alley.  It's very nice and I had a great couple of games.  I think it was the new lanes and great atmosphere!  ;-)  Regards,  Cheri

Janis, Marty and Mike,

Thank you...I hope the client likes this, we have many good pictures but too many to put here.  I spread them out between sites, and flyer's.  the biggest Mountain you can't even see in these pictures but the views are really spectacular in this area.

Cheri,

I haven't been to the new Bowling Alley yet, my grandkids have, but not me.  I heard it was really nice, and large too. thanks for the confirmation....

Maureen,

Thank you, and I am sure the new Owners will love it as well.

Whitewater is a great area for the annual migration of Canadian "Snowbirds"....during the summer it is very hot,  but the winter months are beautiful.....From this house you can see a small bit of a Waterfall down the front of the San Jacinto Mountains.....and the snow seems to last forever...which is nice when you're in the Desert. This is a picture of the mountain from a few blocks away from the property.

I recently visited Palm Springs with my family.  We planned to spend a few hours shopping at Desert Hills Premium Outlets, but before we knew it, we had spent the whole day there.  It is truly an amazing shopping destination.  There are over 130 great designer brand stores, each offering 25-65% savings.  My mom and I bought a ton of clothes in Saks Fifth Avenue off 5th and Banana Republic Factory Store, while my dad and my brother bought their entire fall wardrobe at Brooks Brothers Factory Store and Hugo Boss.  It was amazing!
