FINALLY, federal grant money being used for the people! Over and over you hear about grant money that has been allocated to help cities and their residents get back on their feet, being foolishly squandered and wasted. But not our city! Finally, someone had a wonderful idea that will not only clean up our city, but help our hard working neighbors who desperately need assistance.
The City of Cape Coral has purchased 49 run down and abandoned homes. They are investing $7 million dollars of federal grant money to buy, fix up and resale these homes to low to moderate income families. Many have cosmetic issues, requiring paint and cleaning up, but a couple are even being demolished and re built. Once the homes are sold at discounted prices, the money will be re invested in purchasing more homes. Oh my gosh, such a simple solution that benefits all involved.
What a wonderful way to put your citizens first. Imagine how well these homes will be cared for. The pride of ownership and security of having your own home...Amazing! Cape Coral heal thyself!! Well done!
