First Time Home Buyers Tips for picking out homes!
I just got a call from from a lender who represented a happy couple who just archived First Time Home Buyer status! As in most things we do for the first time, First time Home buyer face obstacles that seasoned home buyers do not. I just wrote blog that you can read at First Time Home Buyer and read my blog about 10 things to consider when buying your first home.
When a First Time Home Buyergoes out to look at homes, always make sure that they have something to write one, preferable a list of all the homes you plan on seeing that day. A First Time Home Buyer can easily get overwhelmed with all the features of a home, especially after seeing a few. I recommend to all my clients that we do not see more than 10 homes in one day.
My recommendation for seasoned and a First Time Home Buyeris that for each home they pick a number that they can associate the home with from 1-10 (1 the worst and 10 is contract worthy) and write it on their paperwork for each home. This number is a gut feeling number! First Time Home Buyersneed to keep in mind that the numbers they assign to each home can change as they look at more homes. You can not have a home with a score of 10 for the yard and a 2 for the interior layout, pick one number. Husband and wife each get their own number. I find that a First Time Home Buyer can easily get side tracked with all the bells and whistles a home has to offer and overlook their specific search criteria needs. This is where the agent must step in and recognize that focus is lost and restate when the buyers were originally looking for.
