Social Media, Blogs, and everything you write is eventually going to be seen by someone sometime, but what is it going to take to read my Blog? There are alot of different scenarios depending on who you talk to, but this is a good start to having some juice on the internet.
Some websites that you write a Blog for might have a "No Follow" and therefore you cannot do a link to your website (outbound link), i.e. "strength" to your post. If you want to get more people visiting your website because of your Blog, you need more keywords that "link" to your website. My Company David M. Frank Court Receiver is just one of the websites that I write about, along with our parent company The Merrill Group of Companies. Each one has different "keywords" which will link you to specific pages when I blog about our Company. Our Commercial Asset Management is one of our keywords, as well as our Commercial Property Management, our Receivership Services is another. So, with this Post, I just linked you to 5 pages on my website by writing the "keywords" that I am linking to.
I know this "search engine" thing can be confusing, but you can promote your website pages in Active Rain for your Blog unlike a lot of other websites that won't give you these backlinks.
Active Rain has a "link button" in the tool bar. Maybe some of you know how to use this, some don't. If you are posting your blog, write "keywords" in your text (as I have done above) that link these words to a specific page on your website. If they click on it, then it will go directly to that page on your site. This will also give you some backlink strength as well.
So, in conclusion, give yourself some "juice" and Blog with a purpose!
