A Minute to Win It!

By
Education & Training with J29 Project

This event is being held in Louisville, KY next week - join us if you can!

If you haven't already done so, please send in your reservation to Betty for the next meeting of the Southwest Women's Round Table...one week from today!  And bring a friend of the female gender from the southwest and be entered to win a door prize!

Here's the agenda...don't miss it!

One Minute...

It can be a very long time if you are waiting for your egg to boil, but a very, very short time to successfully communicate yourself and your business to a complete stranger.  And yet, you don't get a second chance to make a first impression, so those precious 60 seconds can be critical.

A Minute to Win It!

If you struggle with your One Minute commercial, mark your calendar and attend the next meeting of the Southwest WomSheila O'Maraen's Roundtable.  Sheila O'Mara, of Speakers With Spark, will run through the basics of developing a succinct yet interesting description for your business in a 60 second commercial. A practical hands-on activity will help you create a "wow" commercial in no time!  You won't want to miss the opportunity to fine tune how you communicate your business to others.

Wednesday, September 8th from 9 AM - 10:00

Location: Roosters Restaurant

4420 Dixie Highway 40216

Send in your reservation today to betty.moberly@neacelukens.com.

Sounds like a great event.  I am always amazed when I attend networking meetings how many people just go on and on and on and on... about who they are when 60 seconds is probably ideal and memorable.  If people have an interest in your 60 seconds spot they can always find you and talk in more detail.

Have fun at the event.

Thanks Ken - I am looking forward to it!

Allegra -  I wish you could be too.  If the hurricane keeps up - you may want to travel inland to KY!  I would love to finally meet you!

Josef - The experience you are describing is exactly why I was asked to do this. There are too many people who don't understand the value of catching attention and being brief.  When there are 50 people in the room and everyone is promised 60 seconds - it can get really long if people go on and on.  The other thing I have noticed is that people have 60 seconds and talk about everything but their business because they are unsure of how to describe it or aren't comfortable speaking publically.  Hopefully this will help them develop a solid message that they feel comfortable delivering and drive attention to what they do.  Thanks for stopping by!

I could definately use something like this.  I either go on too long or don't describe it well enough.  Succinct Success is what I need.

Leanne - We all can use an update every once in a while. Sometimes it is really hard to be short and sweet about something that you are passionate about.   I will send you some material!  Thanks for stopping by!

What a great subject!  I'm sure it was a huge success.  You seem to do a lot of speaking engagements...I'm not a fan of public speaking at all.

Sorry to hear that you don't enjoy public speaking.  I love it - I feel more comfortable in front of a crowd than I do in a one-on-one consultation.  I do have a lot of speaking engagements - I have actually cofounded a speakers bureau and absolutely love it.  We are just about to add three more speakers and we have traveled all over - even as far away as Germany and Mexico City.  I am looking forward to seeing it grow.  You can check it out at www.speakerswithspark.com!

As for this particualr session - we had a great time.  My partner was able to join me and we had such a wonderful session helping people fine tune their business message into 60 seconds or less.  I really like this particular gorup of female business owners - they are awesome.

Hope all is well and I am going to check out your blog for new pictures of the boys!  So glad you could stop by!

speed networking is the best, because if you want to get away from someone after they go on and on you can without being rude.

Tori - Speed networking certainly has its advantages, but I prefer the slower process.  This info session was to help people really define the essence of their business in 60 seconds or less.  It was designed to evoke interest in what they do so as to extend the conversation longer than 60 seconds.   Thank you so much for stopping by!
