Adding Unconventional Photos to Your Real Estate Website

By
Real Estate Agent with DWELL Real Estate

Below is one of the most important photos on my website.

Sarasota Realtor Marc Rasmussen

My wife took this photo of me and my oldest son Dylan about 5 years ago. I have left it on my website because I receive so many comments about it. I have had people use me as their Realtor because they felt some sort of connection because of this photo.

I was showing Sarasota FL real estate to some new clienst a few weeks ago. We worked together for a few days and got to know each other well. The wife mentioned that she loved this photo and it was one of the main reasons she chose to work with me.

If you view enough real estate websites one thing you will notice is that most of the Realtor photos are very professional and some might even say plastic or stale. I understand why agent choose to use only a professional photo. It is a bit risky to display a photo like the one above. Even though I have had people tell me how much they love the photo above I am sure it turned a few people off.

I decided to add a few more unprofessional photographs to see how it goes. It is a bit risky but it might be worth it. You can see the photos here.

Marc,

I thought you were going to teach me how to upload pictures onto my website. Ha! Good picture though. Check out my picture from Santorini on my post.

I used to have a photo of me in my boat.  I received a lot of compliments on that picture.  I left it up for quite a long time.

GREAT picture! ... tells a lot about you without saying a thing. I'm not surprised you've gotten business because of it!
