I just read Elizabeth Bolton's post complaining about her weather, and rightly so. This time it's the unbearable heat but the picture took me back to the numerous winter posts when half the country was buried under 100 feet of snow. 
We in Southern California just sit back in our rocking chairs and shake our heads. Post, after post, after post about the snow in winter. Post after post, after post about the incredible summer heat.
After reading about the winter cold we go out for a walk in our short sleeves and light linens, or maybe take a dip in the ocean. After reading about the incredible heat we put on a light sweater and go for a walk or have a warm cup of tea.
All the weather reports show states colored to represent the latest weather pattern and nobody mentions that California is going against the trend.
Fine by me. I shouldn't have mentioned it, and don't tell anyone I told you.
Winter was milder than normal and so is the summer. And long may it continue.
