Several homes I have staged have baby grand pianos. They are usually beautiful, but they can be overwhelming in some spaces. If a room is big, the piano needs to be pulled out from the wall, staged as a main focal piece. In this room I hung a violin the homeowner had tucked in a corner, pulled a large print of a violin from another room to make a music grouping.
This client had her piano facing the wrong way. The first thing I did when I walked into this room was spin the piano around to face the correct way. Baby grand pianos need to sit with the curved side into the room, the pianist should be looking into the room. I have seen many pianos placed the wrong way. This is not only wrong esthetically, but also functionally.
Music should be played into the room!
