Today has been an interesting day on the Outer Banks. This is my first time here for a mandatory evacuation, and it was amazing to see the roads go from "bumper to bumper" to practically a ghost town within about six hours.
High tide today in Carova left most of the beach only about three lanes wide, and in a couple of expected spots nonexistent. This video was taken in North Swan Beach at about 6:00 this evening. The surf is not looking friendly, and it is the deepest shade of green I have ever seen here.
