As Benjamin Franklin said, “Take time for all things: great haste makes great waste.”
I consider myself a bit of a tortoise because of the way I do things, but things always get done, almost always right the first time, and usually to a standard that I’m proud of.
“By writing one sentence at a time” is how the late famed science fiction writer Isaac Asimov explained how he wrote over 450 books. This same approach is how I’m finally surpassing the 100,000-point mark here at ActiveRain, by writing one blog post at a time.
AR is where I started blogging and commenting back in December 2007, and while I'm not a prolific blogger like so many here, I enjoy being able to share things that I feel might be informative, possibly helpful and even entertaining.
It’s been an interesting and rewarding journey where I have learned so much, and I’m sincerely grateful for all of the wonderful things that have been shared by others that have helped me learn. Thank you all.
So to all of you AR members just starting your own journey, from the perspective of a self-proclaimed tortoise, this Chinese Proverb seems appropriate:
“Be not afraid of growing slowly, be afraid only of standing still.”
