Some folks say they go to the beach in North Carolina for years and never see the Wild Horses of Corolla.
Fortunately for me this group decided to come out for an evening stroll. The horses are protected and since they are wild you can not feed them or try to lure them closer to you otherwise you might incur a heft fine. It is thought that the horses are decendants of Spanish horses which escaped when the Spanish landed iin the area in the 16th century.
They are fun to watch as they walk along the beach and seem oblvious to the gawking beach goers.
