What Do You Consider a Waste of Money?

As a follow up to my recent blog, 10 Ways to Waste Your Money, I'd like to know what YOU consider to be a waste of money!  Everyone has their own opinion of what wasteful spending is and we all could probably use our money more wisely at times.  From day-to-day spending to major purchases and investments, what types of spending do you consider are a waste of money?  It will be interesting to see the results!  Share your thoughts by writing a comment below!

1. Print advertising

2. Eating out often instead of cooking

3. land line phone service at home (we all have cells right?)

4. hybrid cars (sadly I know from experience and I'd have to drive it about 26 years to make up for the additional amount it cost me with gas savings)

I also went back and read your original list and while I do thing going to the theater to see a movie is "overpriced" I don't see it as a waste.  Some movies just NEED to be seen on the big screen and it's the luxury that my husband and I still allow ourselves in this economy.  Once a month we have a nice date night with dinner and movie.

Tammy - You have some very good points!  One would probably expect a hybrid car to be a good use of money.  Afterall, they are more fuel efficient than gas-only vehicles.  I suppose that high sticker price at the car lot counteracts the major benefits of switching to hybrid.  Maybe if the world would depend less upon oil, things would change.  Thanks for your comment!

William - Very true!  A single 16 or 20 oz bottle of water may be $2.00 or more in some places!  Very expensive!
