Hi Laura...Thanks for Sharing your Labour Day Holiday weekend outing with us, Nice photos and Video..

No disrepect to our First Nation Friends, but if I dressed up and then danced in public like this at my age, they'd put me somewhere :O))

Cheers

Laura, we these are great events and how wise you were to get there early to get a good spot to observe all the festivities.  I am not sure if the Native American tacos are the same, but I always loved the Navajo tacos when I visited my aunt and uncle in New Mexico.

Laura--thanks for sharing this event with the rest of us who might live too far away to just drive over.  However we can experience it through your eyes. Thanks for the video, too.  Great!

Hi Laura, I love Pow Wows. We had one here at Barona this weekend , ended yesterday, but I ended up going  to the Parade of Sails instead. I had seen these great Mocs at one Pow Wow  and I wanted to get them  and I found out they are custom and one has to buy the pattern kit and make them themselves. Or have the Native Americans do it for you. No one sells them commercially. I added them to my project list to give it a try, LOL. I used to do a lot of Western events and grew to love  so much of the Native American culture, dress and artifacts. Always fascinating to me.

Laura, great photos and looks like a great turnout! We had an Indian event at our grammar school one year. It is still memorable.

LaNita, this was a very fun event! It was great to see young children there because they are becoming exposed to a much wider range of thinking, and different cultures...very great :)

Joan, your welcome and we did. To end the weekend we spent time at our friends beach house in Jame Port NY

Fred, of course none at all :) I have to admit...I was dancing too :)

Bruce, the Native American tacos are different, a bit more meatier ...yum! Both were very tasty :)

Mary, this was a wonderful, fun and educational event. Especially with the sounds and sights it is great to have an "in action" view with what it was like :)

Leesa, so much fun and a great time for all! We stayed most of the day, would have liked to see the night time grand opening but that sun was baking us haha :)

Bruce, we had tones of little shops, only one had what you described but it was "do it your self" materials. You had the opportunity to do some bargaining too hahah.

Jane, many of the Native were very much into the competition, eventually they sectioned off each tribe into groups for their dancing and that was great to watch :)

Ellen, It is great when they bring cultural education into the schools. One of the schools I worked at in Central Islip brought in African Drummers and dancers, that was awesome!
