September is the perfect month to visit the
37th Annual Catonsville Arts & Crafts Festival on September 12, 2010.
This yearly festival is a true highlight in the Catonsville calendar. Each year, rain or shine, hundreds of crafters and artisans come to the Frederick Road business district between Bloomsbury Avenue ~Ingleside Avenue and Melvin Avenue in Catonsville and set up stands to display their products. The roads are closed to traffic and detoured around the area.
The event starts at 10am and continues on till 5pm. It is free to attend.
The day's festivities beyond the local crafts and arts include a KidZone under the direction of Community 51 Girl Scout Troops with entertainment and games for all ages. Locally renowned bands provide musical entertainment throughout the day located on two stages, one in the center of the Festival and one at the west end of the festival. For the automotive enthusiasts, a car show, sponsored by the CCBC Automotive Department will be open to the public throughout the day along with the Sunday Farmers Market located at 730 Frederick Road.
The smell of delicious food from local restaurants stalls is available & just adds to the experience.
