That is a lot of drama. So happy she is ok. SOunds like you really understand what is important in life.
Phly:
We have missed you and hope that your baby will be ok, we will keep her in our prayers.
Stephen
Glad to hear that she is okay... Scary... Give her a big hug from all of us here at activerain... Our prayers are with you... See you back here regularly soon...
Phly: I am so sorry you're going through this! It is terrifying and you have to maintain your wits and take care of keeping her calm and talking her back out. My daughter experienced seizures beginning at a very young age and they appeared to be brought on by some sort of trauma, either a fall, hit on the head, finger slammed in a door and high fevers. Her pediatricians were very quick to tell me she was simply having temper tantrums and that I couldn't possibly know what a 'seizure' was.
Finally, she actually had one in the doctor's office while sitting on my lap waiting to see him. We had her evaluated at Children's Hospital -- it's a very long story.
She was finally diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 23 after suffering one from a high fever. Seems she had experienced petit mal seizures. Obviously, not all seizures are a result of epilepsy, sometimes they are simply a one time occurence as this one sounds to be.
It is so scary to see your little one, no matter her age!, go through a seizure. I will be keeping you both in my prayers. Sending good thoughts your way.
Kids are made of hearty stock - and it sounds like yours is no different. I'm glad she's okay!
Very, very scary for you! But glad to hear she is OK - and yes, you have been missed in the Rain!
Phly, seizures are a very scary thing to watch and more so when it is your baby having it. If it happens again, don't let doctors blow you off. Our current medical establishment mandates that you are pro-active in your care or you won't get any! Hopefully, this was a one time thing... You just take all the time you need - we won't forget about you.
Phly,
I hope that is the end to your fears and there will be no complications.
That is scary, Phly. Wishing your little girl a quick and healthy recovery.
Phly, Glad she's okay and definitely your priority should be where it is!
When Miss Bad Manners came out to play and you didn't... suspected you were busy elsewhere... but just hoped you and your family had done a long weekend road trip!
Let it be know that you were absolutely missed these past few days. But also let it be known that your little girl is soooooo much more important than anything you might have missed by not being here.
Take care of that little cutie and come back soon with the good news of her full recovery.
Whew, I'm glad your little girl is OK. I did the same thing when I was 5, chasing after my brothers. I fell, hit my head and konked out. My brothers, who were babysitting me, just stood there looking at me until I woke up. I'd like to say I didn't suffer permanent damage, but I can't be too sure :)
Oh gosh what a horrifying experience. Thank goodness she's OK. I've had a few scares with my two little boys, but nothing like that. Prayers were answered.
Whew! Wow, great news. I totally know what that feeling would be like! Bill and I were trying to figure out if you were ok! In fact, we already purchased our plane tickets, and Perry Mason was called...

Phly, sending thoughts and prayers for your daughter. Glad to hear the CT scan came out okay. Take your time; we'll be here when your daughter is completely in the clear.
Phly.....Great news that your little girl is doing fine! Taking care of family comes first, every time!
Thank you everyone for your support, kind words and well wishes! ;) Embry is doing fantastic! ;) She has been telling everyone that she got to play with the ambulance-para guys (the paramedics) and go to the hospital where she let the doughnut take her picture (the CT scan). She is also totally attached to the bear the hospital gave her, who's name she keeps changing . . . I believe it's Elf today.(It was Woods yesterday.)
After talking with the doctors, and doing some independent research to confirm it, the general consensus was that she had an episode of hypoxia. That is where the body rapidly becomes oxygen deprived for some reason or another and then basically hits the restart button. They think that in addition to bumping her head that she was scared enough that she simply forgot to breathe, resulting in hypoxia and the following very mild seizure. Incredibly scary, but not life threatening in the least. Thank Goodness! In fact Embry was playing ball with one of paramedics not more than 5 or 6 minutes after it happened. (They showed up in just over 3 minutes! I guess Boise is a good place to live if you have an emergency!) So things are getting back to normal here on the home front, finally!
Once again thanks! And I hope to be back posting regularly as of today. ;)
Family first - always. They are what is important in life. I am glad your little girl is okay. I went through a similar experience with my niece - she actually turned blue before starting to breath again. She did grow out of it though (thank heavens).
Diane - Thanks! ;) It's just so completely terrifying when a child is hurt or doing something that can not be readily explained. I'm so glad that your niece grew out of it! I'm hoping that Embry never does anything like it again, because once was more than enough!
I have been missing you. Praying for your daughter and you.
Will be waiting when you get back!
I just read your post. Take your time and take care of your little girl and your family. We will all be here waiting to read, read, read when you return. My prayers are with you for her continued recovery, stay well.
Suesan - Thanks. :) I think that all the prayers have really helped because she is up and doing fantastic! Yesterday she finally decided that she was ok enough to go out shopping with MeMe' (grandma) all by herself. The fact that she feels comfortable enough to go somewhere with out Mommy, tells me that she is completely back to normal. ;)
I'm very glad to hear she is Ok. . .
