A Labor of Love

Here it is Labor Day 2010 and I am in the office.  Just took another short sale listing, went over inspection reports with another client and showed 4 homes to a 3rd.  Made about a half dozen phone calls and caught up on some long over due filing and paperwork, this is just another day in my world. Now maybe I can swing by the gym for an hour or so.

Why do I work on Labor Day a friend asked me, for me real estate is a labor of love.  Whether I am assisting with the purchase or sell of a home, educating some one on the benefits of home ownership, advising them on the advantages or disadvantages of a short sale or helping them buy their 1st investment property or their retirement home, I love this job. Yes, it can be stressful and overwhelming at times, but the far reaching positive impact (if you do it right-legally and ethically) you can effect on someones life more than makes up for that.  The challenges keeps my mind sharp and engaged, the money is good and the freedom to work or not work long hours and holidays is great!

Wow!   You are making me feel guilty now!   I just finished a wonderful weekend where friends whisked me away to Nantucket Island, and you are talking about work.....   I will work overtime tomorrow...   Glad you were productive.   It does feel good.
