Although the last day of summer is officially September 21st this year, I have already begun heralding summer's end; and these were just some of the highlights of my last week's activities. It all began with back to school shopping, changing the schedule and routine to adjust, and all of the to-do items that you just have to do at the end of summer and before fall.
The kickoff to the Maryland Renaissance Festival is a big seasonal mile-marker for me and I was there for my annual visit on opening weekend seeing all of my favorite shows and vendors while taking in all of the sounds and aromas that are unique to this event. 'HUZZAH! Let Merriment Abound!'
There was also a trip to Hanover, PA for the annual Hanover Chili Cookoff which was well attended with every kind of chili entry you could imagine from syrupy sweet to fire blazing hot. Three Advance Realty offices were in attendance with Advance Realty Heritage local to Hanover, PA, Advance Realty Anne Arundel co-entering their chili recipe, and Advance Realty Professionals pitching in to help man the booth and lend support and they were cooking all day and late in the afternoon with an ingredients list that starts with 63 pounds of meats!! That's a LOT of chili and long day of cooking! GREAT JOB everyone, you were awesome and the chili was fabulous!
Rounding out a busy Labor Day Weekend and holiday was a trip to visit family on Maryland's Eastern Shore for a gorgeous day of beautiful scenery, hot Maryland steamed crabs, sunning on a private beach and riding jet skis to the sound of my son's alternating requests of 'Go faster Mom!' and 'Slow down Mom!'.
It was a jam-packed week filled with 'labors' of love while trying to capitalize on the last few warm sunny days before we launch into the turning of the leaves for fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's holiday celebrations and festivities.
Farewell summer, '...parting is such sweet sorrow...'.
