I Just adore a Penthouse View - Rittenhouse Square Luxury Penthouses

I am a huge fan of Rittenhouse Square. No big surprise there. A lot of Philadelphia condo buyers feel the same way. Rittenhouse Square in one of four public squares here in downtown (Center City) Philadelphia.

Located (west of Borad Street) between Walnut and Spruce streets, 18th and 19th streets, the square has a variety of high rise condominium buildings, a few rental buildings, and one or two office buildings. The latest addition to the square, currently being constructed is "10 Rittenhouse"....or Ten Rittenhouse.

There are no loft buildings on the square, and the existing inventory of homes include a wide variety of sizes, styles, and price ranges. I would guess that you could buy on "The Square" for as little as say- $200,000. That might get you a studio apartment in say the Dorchester, or the Savoy. If you have a few more dollars to throw around, then a penthouse apartment is probably what you might want to see. I would guess that Rittenhouse prices are going to top out at about $12,000,000. For that, you could expect a very large penthouse at 10 Rittenhouse.

One of my personal favorites is "1900". Located on the south side of the square, this pre-war gem has probably the most gorgeous lobby of any building in town. Oval in shape, and the plaster detail work is supurb. Well run, well maintained, 1900 has (generally) no more than two units per floor. A few exceptions to that rule do exist. Allow me to be honest here and admit that I used to own a condominium in 1900, and loved living there!

Many empty nesters find the Square to be a primary destination when they move into town. Central to a lot of shopping, restaurants, cultural activities, and access to the train station, and major highways, "RHS" is quite popular!

The list of condo buildings on the square include:

1900, 1830, 1820, the Savoy, The Barclay, 250 S. 18th Street, The Dorchester, 220, 210, The Plaza, and of course the new 10 Rittenhouse.

Pricing for a number of units is contingent upon whether or not the specific condo unit's view....to face the square is to pay for such a view! I could (and just might) write a blog post on that topic alone!

Anyway, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns about this blog entry, please feel free to contact me!
