La Habra Homes Sales StatisticsTaking a close look at the type of closings for August for 2010

  • 35% of the closings were identified in the Multiple Listing Service as "standard" sales.
  • 65% of the sales were identified as "distressed" sales, i.e. short sales, bank foreclosures.

La Habra is a great place to call home, the population is about 62,000 residents and 21,000 households.

If you are thinking of selling your La Habra home consider this: It's about positioning vs. pricing. Getting ahead of other sellers is crucial for a timely sale. That's right, pricing ahead of the competition, including foreclosures/bank owned properties.  You can see that 65% of the most recent closings were identified as distressed sales and all indications that trend is likely to continue for some time.

If you're a La Habra home seller, consider this:

  • 94% of all home buyers begin today with the Internet for their home search.
  • 80% of Orange County is on-line.
  • The average age of an Orange Co. resident is 36 years old, and I don't know of a thirty-something person who is not online!

Yet home sales in La Habra actually increased by 18% over last year.  This is very positive news... now we hope that this is a trend.  The next few months will be very interesting to see where the market is going.

Joan, Jennifer, Dee & Bill ~ I agree the increase was suprising to me too. Especially after hearing so much about things slowing down after the expiration of the tax credit. I'll really be interested to see the numbers for this month.

Jeanean & Tom ~ Thanks for stopping by.
