BWI International Airport Improvements

This international airport, which services the Baltimore and Washington DC area, has been around since the 1950s.

Over this long stretch of time wear and tear takes its toll and, at the same time, new technologies are invented.

Now, with some help from the  American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, $41 million will be spent in upgrading the Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

This investment will provide safety enhancements, environmental upgrades, and create a few hundred jobs.

BWI Recovery Act grant from FAA creates jobs, safety enhancements, and environmental upgrades

As the country continues to pull away from the recession, these types of infrastructure improvements will make the country more capable of sustaining a strong economic growth.

Ron,

Thank you for posting positive news.  Although it makes me wonder if the airport is safe enough as it is.

Ron,

The de-icing of the runways should be very helpful, or were they talking about de-icing of the wings.

Ron,

This is just one indication that the ARRA money is actually being put to good use.

Ron,

Good news.  Maybe I can go to the airport and get a job myself.

Ron,

Maryland is showing strong job growth so it is a good idea to improve the infrastructure.

Ron,

I am glad that Maryland is not afraid to take the stimulus money.  It is helping the infrastructure.
