Facebook "Like" Off!!!

I attended #SMMCamp today and learned some great tips...but one of the greatest things that I thought they did...just because of the human spirit of it all...was offer everyone to post their fan pages that were under 25 "Likes" strong, so that we could all go "Like" them and once a page reaches 25 fans they can get their custom URL.  So, let's have an Active Rain "Like" Off too!

 

Whether you fan page focuses on a neighborhood or a topic...post a comment below with the following information / format, and we can all help each other out! Feel free to post your link and info even if you've already got 25+ fans, because we want to get to know you!

 

Here's the format:

 

Fan Page URL:
Target Market / Fans (if specific):

 

Remember...reciprocate!  Don't just post your page and then leave...if you fit into the target market for any of the other pages listed..."Like" them as you would like them to "Like" you too!  LOL

Kathy - sure!  A fan page (now simply called "pages") is like a mini business site or community site that you can have on Facebook in addition to your regular personal profile.  You can read more about them here.

Great idea! I don't have a fan page yet. I'm concerned about confusion. I have over 300 friends on my main facebook page. When I blog or post in general they all see it. If I open a fan page and start using it don't I risk having less exposure? And if I cross post isn't that being redundant? Please share your thoughts on this as I have been contemplating this for a while. Thanks,

Phillip - Good questions.  Having a fan page can basically be a totally separate entity than your personal profile.  When you first set up your fan page, you could post a message on your personal profile that announces the fan page to all your friends, and the ones who want to be involved in your fan page can be, the others can simply remain on the personal level with you.  As for redundant...it is only as redundant as you make it.  If you don't post to both the personal profile and the fan page, then it will only show up on the one you post it to.  Also, you are much more limited in the number of friends you can have, as opposed to the number of fans your page can have...if you are ever lucky enough to get that big...which of course is what we all dream about :-)  Thanks for reading!

I am just setting up my FB busines page. At this ealry stage, should I make it sepaerate from my personal page, or linked? What are the advantages and disadvantages please?
