WARNING: Don't Cloak Your Pages - Google Doesn't Like That

A lot of website owners make this mistake.

They either get a website from a real estate corporate office or from a template and then they do the following mistake. They forget to change the titles on each and every page. That is a serious screw up...

The other mistake is even worse. A lot of agents take their domain name and literally cloak the entire site. So every page reads.. HI, WELCOME TO NORTH CAROLINAS BEST HOMES ON THE WEB.... Or it simply has their domain name on each and every page.....

This can be viewed as cloaking.... it can get you banned....

Or... blacklisted from the search engines altogether....  Either way, its something you want to be on the lookout for.

The simple thing to do is to make sure each and every web page you make has a different title. Make sure that title is relevant to the overall page. The keywords should pop up in the title and in the body copy so you are relevant.....

Here is the official take on "cloaking". Search engines look at it as unscrupulous and "black hat".

Ted - Thanks for the valuable cloaking information.  It is important to make sure that webpages are as search engine friendly as possible.
