In Honor Of Those Who Lost Their Lives On 9/11/2001, Fly Your American Flag

Flag, Logan Martin Lake SalesToday is the ninth anniversary of the worst tragedy that the United States of America has experienced in my lifetime. I can still feel the sadness and the terror I felt watching this unfold in front of my eyes on television.

When I first learned of the terrorist attack I heard it on the radio, I was putting up signs on the other end of the county. Terrified not knowing what was going on I went straight to the high school and checked my son out. Back at home glued to the television with my child safe within by reach, I watch the horrors unfold that forever changed the lives of thousands and this great country of ours. Sadness and grief overwhelmed me as it did the entire nation for the senseless act of terrorism that took place that day.

Fly your American flag today to honor those who lost their life on that tragic day, and for our servicemen and women fighting abroad to preserve our freedom. Together as a nation we will prevail and win the battle over terrorism.

Well said Diane.  I was late, driving on my way to a GRI class.  When I got there I told everyone what I heard and the class was immediately dismissed.  I was numb for days.

Thank you. Today, Santa Fe celebrated Fiesta with a Pet Parade. There were many flags flying in between all the kids and pets of all sizes and kinds.

Flag was out first thing this morning.  As I came back from my morning hike I noticed there weren't that many flags up today.  That seems sad - are people forgetting already.

Hello Diane, that people tend to forget scares me...that event has changed us and I'll never forget that day.  I was laying tile in a new house I bought...the television was on for company when I heard the news...I was glued to the TV for the rest of the day.  My flag was also out first thing this morning.

It's such a beautiful thing to see lots of American flags on display.  I remember how many were out immediately after 9/11 and how it made me feel.  Goose bumps and pride with each one I see.
