Floating Down the River

By
Real Estate Agent with Metro West Realty GA RE#258608

I'm sort of excited about tubing down the river today with my family. Our church hosts a trip each year to get families to enjoy a relaxing day together.  As I anticipate that trip, I've come to some conclusions about what to expect.

First the water will be cold. It's September and this river is cold in the middle of July. So with the outside tempature not so hot, the water will seem even colder. I've heard that you get used to it!

Second, the tube will be my ride. I can choose to float on the tube or walk on the shore line. I think floating will be more relaxing and fun.

I have a sickness in that I always connect daily events to my work and the rest of my life. In thinking about tubing, I think of my Real Estate Career. The environment for Real Estate is COLD some seasons. It's barely moving and I sometimes get used to the cold and try to figure out how to deal with it.  I can also choose to go with the current and work with it, or I can walk the shore line and do something else.  Today's market is full of REO, Foreclosures, Short Sales and then re-sales. I must figure a way to work in this market and stay boyant no matter how fast or slow the current.

I apologize for the corny analogy, but I believe that we must adapt our strategies to the market while standing strong on the values and convictions that make us who we are.  In some cases we have to swim upstream!

Pressing On!
