Tri-County Crime Stoppers of Minnesota
Tri-County Crime Stoppers of Minnesotaserving the central Minnesota counties of Benton, Stearns and Sherburne.
Saint Cloud Minnesota is positioned in 3 counties in central Minnesota. While this is wonderful for choices when buying a St. Cloud home it can make for some interesting coordination problems with local law enforcement. Yet here in Saint Cloud and the Tri-County area of Stearns, Benton and Sherburne counties our local law enforcement agencies have not only come up with ways to work through this but to increase their ability to work together and to include the local citizens and the general public in solving crimes.
Tri-County Crime Stoppers has set up an easy way for people to give information reguarding crimes in the Tri-County area without having to identify themselves. This is a very effective system that also offers rewards of up to $1,000 to the tipster.
Tri-County Crime Stoppers is part of Crime Stoppers International. Tips can be left by calling (320) 255-1301 in the local St. Cloud area or 1-800-255-1301 toll free. The phones do not have a caller ID or a voice recorder, the number is answered 24 hours a day by a real human being who wants your crime solving tip. There is also an online tip system set up where people can give tips and receive an ID# to be able to check back to keep track of the progress, and add more information about the crime later. This ID# also allows for messages to be left for the tipster reguarding their reward. Rewards are paid out when formal charges have been filed.
This system has proven very helpful in overcoming the three main obsticals law enforcement faces while investigating a crime:
By offering full anonymity and paying out rewards Crime Stoppers has found a wonderful way to help keep our local communities safer and to allow the citizens to be more helpful in resolving crime. We are very grateful to Tri-County Crime Stoppers and to all of our local law enforcement personal who help keep us safe. If you have information about a crime in your area please have the courage to pick up the phone and make what could end up being a very important call. Bad people are able to succeed when good people do nothing.
