Boulder Colorado Saturday Sunshine

Boulder Colorado Saturday Sunshine

It is a beautiful sun shiny day here in Boulder Colorado. When I stepped outside early this morning I could not see or smell any smoke from the forest fire. It is the first time since the fire started that it has been so clear.

Because of the smoke I hadn’t bicycled since before the fire. Since the air was clear today I decided to go out for a spin. I bicycled 35 miles along the Front Range but I did not go up into the mountains.

Officials now report they are starting to get the upper hand on the fire. Today I only saw a couple of helicopters flying and no air tankers. I am hoping this means the fire will be completely extinguished within a few days.

Yesterday’s news stated that there were 800 firefighters from 20 states across the country fighting the fire. It is amazing how people and resources can pull together in difficult times.

Much better John - it sounds like things are looking up and looking up into the blue sky without smoke is a definite improvement!

Hope it's gone now. A friend of mine in Longmont has been posting some pictures. Definitely not the same kind of Colorado pictures that we usually see.
