When Marble Estate was built from 1964-1965 it was, along with the adjoining track of Palo Del Amo, considered to be one of the best areas of Torrance. At that time many of the baby boomers were just starting the hippie phase making the areas closer to the beach less desirable. This was also a time when there was enough land left in Torrance and the rest of the South Bay for there to be large new tracks of homes. Instead of doing the complete remodels that are now common in the Southwood and other tracks in West Torrance and South Torrance people moved to larger homes. The one, two and three level homes had 3-5 bedrooms, at least two baths and ranged from 1500 to 2600 square feet. For 1965 that was a larger home.
This one level California Contemporary home has the popular H floor plan. In the center of the H are two outdoor patios. It adds lots of light to the house and brings the outdoors indoor. These patios also give the owners of this floor plan places to enclose if the 1914 square feet of this house becomes to small. This house features four bedroom and two full baths. Off the spacious foyer is the large living room/dining room combination. The kitchen/family room is also off the main entry. Behind the kitchen and the back patio are the four bedrooms. One of these bedrooms is a large master suite with an on suite bath, dressing area and large closet. Behind the house is a decent sized back yard. The house is entirely on one level and there are no steps.
This house is currently being offered for $695,000.00. There is no for sale sign and it is shown by appointment only. There is a virtual tour please go to Southeasttorrance.com.
