Basically, this is a summary page showing all the main players and links to their sites. Some are working from an actual real estate service platform and others are just spending millions of Venture Capital dollars.
I hope 1000 WATT Consulting, the firm that put it together, is planning on frequent updates. This summary page should begin to shrink over the next 4-6 months.
My expectation of these developing sites is “not much”. Here’s why. First, they’re born out of the H-Bubble. The housing frenzy that’s now crashing down. The feverish housing hustle is now only a memory and so is the consumers need to track housing data like a ‘pro’. Who wants to watch the bad news grow worse by the day?
I’m not making this position up. I’m able to track real estate related web traffic from all sorts of sites. The traffic is sliding off month by month. The referring just isn’t there. The reason is simple. Buyers aren’t crawling the data like they use too. Showings are way down. Ask any agent in town.
Don’t get me wrong, I think many of the developing tech tools are super cool. I just don’t think they’ve got the stay power or the business model to survive.
