I am shamelesly going for points on this one.  This spider was about 2 inches.  I took this picture in a cave inside a mountain in South America.

Nice close up photo of your spider friend. My wife and I always enjoy going thru caves on our trips.

I'm thinking deadly, at the least - will make you ill.  There was a teeny, tiny spider on the inside of my husband's windshield last night which I saw coming back from a listing appointment.  Admittedly, I had to work up the nerve to attempt to get rid of it.  Never found it after the attempt.  Wonder where it is in the car?

Sonja, I did use the zoom lens.  I don't have a fancy camera though.

Paul,  I will post a picture of the way  I looked in another wordless day.  You had to have a flashlight because it was 100% dark.

Rhonda,   I am not crazy about spiders either, but this one look beautiful in the dark.  The photo doesn't show how vibrant  the color was on this spider.

I've heard that if you first remove the head and fangs these are actually safe to eat in a survival situation...

That is kind of creepy.  I think I would have wanted lights on in that cave the rest of the way.
