CELEBRATING A SWEET VICTORY! Today I was blessed beyond measure when I put on my running shoes, headed to downtown Houston and ran my first race just 8 weeks post op from my open lung surgery.
The Run for Recovery Race celebrating those recovering from drug and alcohol abuse. For me it was celebrating a different kind of recovery. None the less, I was out there and it was awesome!
As I rounded the last curve and saw the skyline of downtown Houston, tears poured from my eyes. 8 weeks prior I was laying up in the hospital just a few blocks away from where I was now running. There were so many emotions it is hard to describe.

I wasn't concerned about my time or who was passing me by, all I could focus on was the great feeling of running again and moving! The human body is an incredible machine and God's design is truly awesome!
No matter what you are facing, you CAN achieve your goals. You CAN recover and heal! You CAN go the next mile!
Thank you to everyone who has supported me over these past very trying months. Love to you all. Don't forget to LIVE today!
