Hello Barbara,

I photograph many of these events and was in Solomons Island this past weekend. All I can say is this event just put Solomons Island on the map in regards to the Offshore Racing Community and the local fans!

The event was so very professionally run, the people that came out and attended this event even though there were passing showers were truely remarkable. Spectators are the key to the success of any event and for its Sponsors.

I spoke with many of the local people and heard all positive responses.

Had it not been for this race, I may have never heard of Solomons Island and I have to say it was a great place for an event such as this and a place for a Vacation.

I will be uploading the photos from the entire weekend on my website Sharkey-Images.com under OPA RACING.

I look forward to coming back next season.

The hospitality in Solomons Island was the best !!!

From the home owners to the businesses. Everyone seemed to be treated like family and it was great to have such a great reception.

The people of the Chesapeake Bay Powerboat Association are all 1st class and run a well organized safe event.

I can't wait to come back, whether it be for a race or even to spend some vacation time there.

Thank you for having this on your Blog.

Best regards,

Tim Sharkey
