Tovrea Castle is getting a Make Over
You have probably seen it as you drive by on the 202 freeway. But, not knowing the right history, how can we appreciate the value of this old structure?
The City of Phoenix bought the park in 1993 as a public park. Over the years more than $20 million has been pumped into the building and surrounding 43 acres. It requires a large investment for a project that large.
Repairs are estimated to be about $12 million before the old structure will be open to the public. It will take several years, and is scheduled to be open in 2012. That is not so far away, compared to the decades it stood vacant and empty.
Look for more information in the next several years.
