Q: “Denise, I don’t understand why people are not returning my phone calls.  Help!”

A: You’re not getting calls back because you’re not leaving the right message. When you leave vague “just calling to check in” messages, you’re practically guaranteed no call back.  When you make contact you must be consistently making an offer – for information, for something you found that might help or interest them, for industry news.  Whatever it is, it must be of interest to THEM.

For example, you could call and say: “Hi, this is Denise. I am calling to let you know that I have found three homes in the South Hills area that match what you’re looking for.  I’m really excited about these three homes – give me a call so I can share all the details!”

You’re much more likely to get a call back when there’s a good reason to call you back – and there’s a benefit to your client to do so.

Hi Denise.  That's a good point but what if you really are calling just to check in such as staying in touch with past clients.  Of course in that case it doesn't matter if they call back.
