Google Instant? No way. I want the OLD Google Back.

If it ain't broke... don't BREAK it.

A famous quote by Lil Wayne, a music rapper.

I had thought that statement came from business giant "Peter Drucker," or successful life coach "Tony Robbins."

To make a long story short -- Google just made an update that many of us are not going to like.

Do you like to be interrupted?

Do you like people to finish your sentences?

Well Google things you will. Because Google Instant is just that.   It's 100% pure information overload.

Because as you start to type in a word you want and INSTANTLY Google starts to change your search results.  It's aggravating to say the least.  What if I'm on the phone and I'm doing a search?

I'm doing a key word search on San Francisco Real Estate and I get to San... and Google starts to give me suggestions. It's bogging down my search, it's interrupting me and it's just so...  so...  irritating.

Try Google right now and you'll see and most of you will agree. Google Instant simply sucks.

The new Google is faster, but I'm finding myself getting lost in what I was trying to find as Google wants to give me so much more information as distractions now.  Google is actually getting harder to use and while I can't speak for everyone -- I have enough crap information to process every day in my life.

And as of last week -- Google isn't helping me find what I want any faster.  So I'm switching to BING now for most of my searches.

Google Instant

Now for the good news.  If you like the OLD GOOGLE, you can have it back.

Simply go to the top RIGHT side of your Google Search Settings.

Click that.

Scroll down to bottom of the page.

Use Google Instant — predictions and results appear while typing
Do not use Google Instant

CLICK the radio button: DO NOT USE GOOGLE INSTANT and then click the "SAVE preferences" button.   Then you have the OLD Google back.

I noticed that just the other day, but thought it was something I did.  Then it did it again.  And, then I paid attention.

Carol...you didn't download Google?  You don't have to download it.  Just go to google from your Internet Explorer or whatever toolbar you use.

Bart - I would have to agree with you. I liked Google just the way it was before the Google instant came around.

Can you turn it off?  I hate it.

My husband changed to Bing, too - "he doesn't like people telling him what to do."  :)

There is a little button to the right of the search where you can toggle instant search off or on.  Mine is set to OFF because it was annoying.  I'm sure Bing is loving Google instant search.
