After the 30in30 - What comes next?

By
Real Estate Agent with Harvest Realty

Many of us are in the home stretch (rounding 3rd and headed for home) in our 30 Posts in 30 Days Challenge.

So what comes next?

First of all, for your final post on Day 30, you can post it here.  It is an unusual group - to post once - that special Day 30 Post for all to see.

Some may want to continue posting away. David Popoff described a possible addiction that some might have to Active Rain.  If you showing some of those signs, what can I say?  Rest?  Therapy?  To post on day 31 does not mean that you are addicted.  But if you are still going every day a few weeks later, maybe a break, a vacation, some hiking, just something different would be in order.

Consider a few things.  What has worked for you?  What has brought business? What are others doing that is bringing them results?

Goals beyond the 30in30 don't have to come on Day 30 or Day 31 or Day 32.  (They might even develop long before Day 30.)  But in due time, you will have time to reflect on what you've learned and how you plan to move forward into the future.

So what does come next?

Yes, Shar, I agree. I'm at day 22, and I have learned that there is so much to blog about. I'm ready for a break, though.

John - Learning how to bring business is an important part of this.

Shar - I think it has opened our eyes to blogging in general and how to get better at it.  A blog vacation sound good - after Day 30.

Emily - Great that you are doing it despite the points deadline.

Liz - About one week to go.  It has been a learning experience, hasn't it?

Pamela - If the local posts bring business, then consistent local information should be the key.  The 30in30 should be a good foundation to launch the local emphasis.

Oh - day 30 is so close and yet so far away!  :)  I only have a few more days to go - I try not to keep count - 5 days left!  LOL

I will continue blogging regularly.  I have a good base of a habit going.  I just won't have to stress about absolutely not missing a day!

Dan - Taking it one day at a time.  Right now I just want to finish.

Debbie - I bet some idea run in pairs or threes.  If you are not a draft mode user, then take a look at some of the posts about it.  Less stress when you have a back-up idea in draft mode if the brain doesn't come through.

Mark - That's where you need to be right now.  I think I have some ideas forming for beyond 30in30, but the priority right now is to get it done.

Dan:  I have been on Active Rain since August, 2007.  The most posts I have done in one month... was 44... but that was during my first two years.  Over the last year, I had one month when I wrote 36 posts, and the rest anywhere from 9 to 24.

But... I have never been consistent enough to do 30 posts... one day at a time... consecutively.  I am now on day 21... with nine to go.

This way is better.  <smile>

I will not miss a day, I will not miss a day... I will not miss a day... LOL.

Well, I may be crazy - because part of my 30 in 30 challenge was my unreasonable promise for 365 Things to do in Palos Verdes. The intention is one a day for a year. We'll see - I will probably make a new promise (maybe one a week!).

What I really got out of it, what a realization of how much power I have when I make a promise and live up to it.

As someone once told me, "Shoot for the moon. If you miss you will land among the stars."

I am done, I did it!! But I think I will just keep going and see how long I can go..... We shall see! It has become part of my every day life I can not imagine taking the time to do it now.

I am looking forward to being done - 7 days left.     I find that I am forcing the issue instead of letting if flow naturally.   I will likely blog one or twice a week though taking more time to research each blog.    I usually have a draft ready one day in advance but today I don't so I hope this coffee kicks in soon.

I started a few days too late for the points but I am continuing to my 30 day end.  I've learned a lot and can definitely see how it can help my business in the future.

Karen - You're right, you won't miss a day, you won't miss a day.  Not when you're this close.

Sharona - At least with a project that big, you know you can be several posts ahead and take time off to rest.  Every day for a month is almost too much.

Melissa  - Congratulations on making it to Day 30.  I say your post on the Day 30 post group.  If you want to keep going, go for a while, but your body will probably demand a vacation eventually or at least a few days off.

Diane - You know it doesn't have to be about real estate.  Find some event in your area or a business to feature.  You can still have your signature and links back to your website.

Tammy - Good for you.  There are some who have taken up the challenge too late for the extra points.  But  I think you will find it to be a great experience despite the points.  And that is the point: doing things to help your business.

Still 6 more to go for me - and yes, it's an addiction now! I wait for the clock to pass midnight and...want to make sure I post before I sleep! This is a great challenge and there are some positive by-products for me, too!

Praful - One advantage of being done with the 30in30 (sounds like you will be there soon) last night I wrote a post and I was thinking that I need to get that in on Wednesday.  Then I realized - hey it is done - so I just went ahead and posted it on Tuesday night.

Dan:  I understand what you are saying... that you didn't have to wait till the next day to submit your post... but perhaps one thing that came back to me while doing my 30 in 30... was the regularity of submitting these posts... on a daily schedule for us as well for our readers.  In the past I have submitted posts whenever they were ready... sometimes too many, too soon.  Am I making any sense ?

Karen - Yes, that does make sense.  Putting a post in draft and polishing it later before submitting sometimes results in a better outcome.

Sometimes out of excitement... when I get two good ideas for a post at once... I write both, submit one, and then give way to my excitement... and submit the second one too soon... thus robbing both of them of the attention they deserve, and would have... if spaced rather than piggy-backed.

I did my 30/30 and finished today.  Yes it helped me with discipline and all of those things but it did something more for me.  It energized my Google Juice like you wouldn't believe as well as my ranking here in the Rain.

This was my first goal - and I tell you..this has changed me a lot for good! I'll blog about it on my day 31!
